What is TooMuchPatentLeather?

My name is Alex and this blog is more of a diary or mood board, expressing my own original thoughts about fashion, beauty, art and what exactly is too much. The title of this blog is like my personal style in that it is ironic- there can never be too much patent leather. Fashion is more than self expression or art, it is a form of communication and this page will be committed to communicating both simple and elaborate conceptual ideas and also opinions. Whenever I place pictures of myself I am not using professional photography tools. I do not own or claim property on any images. Feel free to leave a comment expressing your own opinions and constructive criticism. Thanks for reading!

Blondes Have More Fun, So I'll Just Bleach My Soul.

The blonde verses brunette war continues with this blog. What are successful examples of each hair color, and why are the differences so important to some people? Perhaps, for some, its what each color represents. Overall, there are more blonde women casted in cinema than any other hair color, and perhaps this is suggestive of how blonde hair and women are valued in our own culture. Despite individualized differences, and of course a general no one person is the same, I do feel there are some universal symbolic connotations for hair color and personalities. A person is not their hair, not their skin. However, how a person chooses to represent themselves does say something, whether its accepting themselves or bleaching the death out of their scalp: Lets not judge, but lets interpret. Some people inherently look better as one or the other, blonde or brunette, and furthermore, most men usually prefer one or the other. Brunettes have an edge, and a dark sexiness about them. They have a more mature, grounded confidence at times, and on the flip side may not have the freedom and playfulness or even attention grabbing qualities of blondes. Blondes will always stand out, because blonde hair is mostly a uncommon hair color. Many people may just be responding to this when they see blonde hair, since something that is rare can be valued differently. Blonde and Brunette hair of course fall short of red bombshells. Gwen Stefani has always committed to her look. Kudos for her.

Perfect Platinum.

Iconic blonde duo. They look good no matter what, but it seems their best color is always this natural medium blonde.

In history of fashion, one of the most notary blondes.

Recently going blonde is stunning for Alison, but she'll always be a redhead in my book.

This may be the most realistic, complimentary shade of blonde i've seen. Love.

Real natural blonde is so sexy.

Classic.

Gorgeous blonde.

A tormented blonde.

The Land Of Tormented Blondes: White Oleander.
Megan Fox can never look better than in this moment in my book.

Tyra always looks awkward with anything but this beautiful carmel brown.

Beyonce, to me, always looks Beyonce with ombre hair. So beautiful

Guys without highlights are so hot.

Beyond anything.

Charlize Theron, a classic blonde, looks so much more interesting with this black hair.

Classic Brunette, it will always be the hair color she'll fall back on.

Iconic.

Beautiful and mysterious.

  1. I always wished that I was a blonde =) You were missing Edie Sedgwick though, she would have been a great blonde addition!
